Whitman Supports STEM
Students Participate in STEM in the Schoolyard
Approximately 100 Whitman Middle students participated in STEM in the Schoolyard, an interactive event that provided students with the opportunity to create, explore, and experiment with how science, technology, engineering, and math are used in everyday life. Students took part in demonstrations centered on disaster-proofing buildings, flying a drone, creating lip balms using chemistry, LED light painting, and drawing and building robots. The students enjoyed expanding their imaginations while enhancing their learning experience. STEM in the Schoolyard was sponsored by the United Way of the National Capital Area and Airbus.
