Rising 8th Grade Family Night

Join us for our Rising 8th Grade Family Night on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. at Whitman Middle School. This events provides families the opportunity to learn about the academic advising and course selection process as your student begins to select courses for 8th grade.

Quarter End and Student Holiday

Tuesday, January 28, is the last day of the quarter for students. Also, schools are closed for students on Wednesday, January 29, for a teacher work day. We look forward to starting the 3rd Quarter with all of our Wildcats on Thursday, January 30.

FCPS to Host Instructional Job Fair on February 1

Fairfax County Public Schools wants you to join our team! We are seeking educator talent with strong student engagement skills and a passion for positively influencing our school communities. We are hosting a job fair on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Lake Braddock Secondary School. There will be networking and interviewing opportunities with representatives from various FCPS schools. Employment offers for current 2025-26 school year vacancies may be extended during the fair.

Holmes Band Director Enjoys Trumpeting Commanders’ Success, Marches into the Playoffs

Luis Perez, band director at Holmes Middle School, has been involved with the Washington, D.C., football team for nearly as long as he’s worked at Holmes. He’s in his 29th year with Holmes and 28th as a trumpeter for the Washington Commanders Marching Band.
