Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology Application Information Session
Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) is a unique high school for science and technology where students with exceptional quantitative skills and interest in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics, can pursue higher levels of academic achievement in those subjects in preparation for the pursuit of a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics focused profession. Selection of students for admission to TJHSST is through a competitive admission process.
TJHSST is looking for highly motivated students with diverse backgrounds, talents, and skills, who demonstrate characteristics based on FCPS School Board Policy 3355 and TJHSST’s school mission. In addition, students must demonstrate the following:
- Current enrollment or successful completion of Honors Algebra I.
- Currently enrolled in Honors Science.
- Currently enrolled in and honors course in social studies or English/language arts, or identified as a “Young Scholar”.
- At the completion of 7th grade, should have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher.
A parent information session will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, if your child meets the above mentioned requirements.
